Over 2 billion people around the world use Google Chrome and all that comes with it. But only a fraction of these 2 billion people actually check if Chrome is up to date.

Checking if your Chrome is up to date allows you to be protected by the latest security updates that Google offers. When checking whether you need to update Chrome, one of three colored icons will appear:

  1. Green: An update was released less than 2 days ago.
  2. Orange: An update was released about 4 days ago.
  3. Red: An update was released at least a week ago.

Follow the steps down below to learn how you can check if your Chrome browser is up to date and whether you are protected.

How to Check if Chrome is Up to Date

Step #1: Click on the Three Dots at the top right of your Google Chrome Browser

Step #2: Click on Help and About Google Chrome

Step #3: Wait for the page to reload and the webpage will tell you whether you need an update or not.

Checking whether a Chrome Update is available is extremely simple. Make sure that you set a reminder on your computer or mobile device to remind you to check every 3 days. If you need an update, simply click Update Google Chrome and stay protected and up to date with the latest features.

Check any of Google’s Social Media pages or forums to check what each new update brings. It could be a tiny update or they could have changed the UI of one of their features -- only time will tell!
