One of the more annoying parts of my previous job was the 40 minute commute. So, of course, the sensible thing to do was to work at CloudApp, which now gives me a 2-hour commute.
Things were good at FranklinCovey. I was part of a mission-driven organization focused on enabling students to thrive in the 21st century. I was given large responsibilities as a new hire 4 years ago, and I had become an integral part of a marketing team that provided opportunities to shine. Looking back, it’s a little nuts realizing they handed a full Eloqua instance to a new grad like me, but the opportunity forced me to learn quickly and deliver results. Great work was happening by the time I left. The division was growing, the team had a great vibe, and we were making impactful progress on the marketing front. I’m beyond thankful for the experience I got there, so I can’t help but give them a shout out. If you have kids in K-12 and are interested in processes that help instill leadership qualities into students, check them out at leaderinme.org. They’ve got one of the best processes in the market.
Sometimes though the best thing is just something different. It’s a hyper paced world out there, and I could tell that in order to keep up I was going to need to increase my skill set through a different perspective and a different opportunity to execute.
CloudApp is both of those.
CloudApp’s got some great people in leadership with superb experience and really good networks. They bring innovative perspectives built from that experience that I believe will drive the company to success. Not to mention the great minds from those that have invested, partnered, and worked with CloudApp to make it what it is today and what it will be in the future. I am excited to learn from all of them and apply that learning to the work I’ll be doing in marketing automation.
On top of that, CloudApp is full of opportunity, and the possibility of proving I can win helped ultimately win me over. The desire of feeling that winning feeling is real. I don’t need the glitz, glam, or fashion; just a place where I can prove that I can win. CloudApp is a pool of potential just waiting for someone to dive in and execute, and I wanted to be a part of the group that makes it happen.
So the new adventure begins, with a quality product that simplifies work life, a team eager to win, and a future that’s bright. I’m excited to be a part of it.
