Deciding to make the next big career move is not easy. After receiving an offer from CloudApp to be the marketing manager, I struggled for days with the decision. A major reason I wanted to stay at my previous job was because onboarding at a new company is daunting and stressful. It usually takes me about 3 months to get fully up to speed with company processes, etc. I also didn’t want to leave my awesome coworkers and have to meet new people (I’m an introvert).
But taking the job would allow me the opportunity to work with some incredible people, expand my area of responsibility, and market a product that is game-changing. Seriously- it’s been a few days and I’m already hooked. The offer was too good to pass up, so I took the leap.
Ease of Onboarding
Spoiler alert: I made the right decision. A couple of hours into my first day, I was watching CloudApp screen recordings that explained processes in an engaging and efficient way. The information could have been typed out in a document instead, but it would have been less effective and more time-consuming. An added bonus was that, as a visual learner, I didn’t feel like I was drowning in information since it was so easy to understand.
When I was in the interview process, there was only one employee in the Lehi office. By my first day a few weeks later, the number increased to four and we will be at a total of six in the next couple of weeks. In addition, the week before I started, CloudApp raised $4.3 million in the latest round of funding. It’s an exciting time to be part of the CloudApp team. There are so many opportunities for employees to make a true difference at this phase in a company. I feel energized and ready to take it all on.
Each employee has the privilege to shape the culture of CloudApp at this stage. With so few team members, we all have a large impact. I have admired the work ethic and knowledge that each person brings to the team so far. It’s energizing to be part of a group who is focused on growing and improving our business.
Because of the ease of onboarding, growth opportunities, and company culture, I already feel more prepared and excited than ever to start contributing to the company in a meaningful way. I will be using my background in SEO and content strategizing to ensure that our productivity solutions can be easily found in search engine results. And after exploring and learning how useful CloudApp’s software is, I couldn’t be more stoked to help other companies and employees discover it too!
