This year the Zight (formerly CloudApp) team has put an immense amount of effort into thoughtful product updates that would help our customers make a strong transition to remote work. Through our public roadmap, reviewing comments on G2, video customer interviews, scanning our support queues, and reviewing NPS scores, we’ve been able to release several major updates for our community of over 4 million users.
Updates we Released in 2020.
Zight (formerly CloudApp) for iPhone & iPad – accessing your items on the go, and in real time, to help make it easier to share anywhere is just the beginning for iOS.
Instant video – With instant video on Mac, it is now 10x faster (5x at time of release) to upload your videos and screenshots after creating. Share instantly.
Video annotations – We expanded GIF annotation to videos, and now you can mark up your videos with annotations to add greater context and enhance collaboration with your co-workers and customers. We’ve started this out with all Mac users, and it will be available for Windows at the beginning of Q1 2021.

Collaboration from Zight (formerly CloudApp) – We brought commenting & annotations directly into view with Collaboration from Zight (formerly CloudApp). Now you can exchange comments on videos, GIFs, and screenshots right in the viewer, as well as add quick annotations right from your web browser. You can also quickly find items shared with you by teammates in the “Shared With Me” folder.
We bundled these together as an end of year gift to help our community thrive in 2021.
Search – For all pro, team, and enterprise accounts, you can now easily find and use your content by using the new search bar that is visible at the top of your share.getcloudapp.com/dashboard. No more endless scrolling!
Notifications – See when your items have been viewed and more! With the new notifications panel, you’ll be able to see when your screenshots or videos have been viewed for the first time.
Calls to Action – Make the most of Zight (formerly CloudApp) with an adaptable button. Link a help article, close deals with a sales link, and more – because now, you can add a clickable action to any video, screenshot, or GIF
Do-Not-Disturb – This new feature makes sure that your texts, calls, and notifications don’t get in the way of your recordings.
Enterprise – With added security features, more team admin controls, improved collections and workspaces and SCIM Support, we’ve had the success of your business in mind. Look out for more Enterprise features in 2021 to ensure your company can communicate better with Zight (formerly CloudApp).
Love for the world of Windows – When we first started Zight (formerly CloudApp), we focused primarily on our Mac app, but this year we’ve put an immense effort into making our Windows app fast, bug-free, and equal to our Mac app. With a new UI, more stability, and added features (annotations, video improvements) Windows will start off 2021 right in line with Mac.
Remote content – Our marketing team launched guides, blog posts, webinars, and other content aimed at helping ease the move to the modern remote workplace. Check out some of the content on our remote work guide page
